Unit 1 – Undertaking Manual Handling of Loads at Work 
Understand the reasons for safe manual handling 
How manual handling risk assessment contributes to health and safety 
Principles, types of equipment and testing requirements related to manual handling 

Assessment Method 

The assessment methods for this qualification are:- 
 
Practical demonstration 
The practical assessment of the learners is conducted throughout the course. On-going assessment will involve learners demonstrating practical manual handling tasks across a number of areas. 
 
Multiple-choice question paper 
Each candidate is assessed by completing a multiple-choice question paper.  
Pass mark: 70% (11/15) 
Duration: 30 mins
