Yes, our course is fully compliant with the Ofsted requirements for early years and childcare settings. Our 2 Day Paediatric First Aid course covers the criteria in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Practice Guidance, making it an excellent choice for those working in nurseries, schools, and other child-focused workplaces. Our course is Ofqual-regulated, and attendees will receive a nationally recognised certificate from an accredited training provider.

For your childcare setting to be compliant with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, there must be at least one person with a current paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and available at all times when children are present. However, in larger childcare settings or those with more risks, you might require more than one trained paediatric first aider to be present.

You should consider:

The number of children in the setting
The number of rooms and spaces
That you’ll need to account for staff illnesses, breaks and holidays.

Yes, one of the main benefits of In-house training is that it’s designed to meet the unique needs of your workplace. The course can be easily customised to your childcare environment, making the training much more relevant and practical for your staff.

Up to 12 learners can be facilitated per instructor. This ensures that each learner receives personalised instructions and hands-on training. Larger group numbers can also be facilitated with additional instructors. Get in touch with our team today to learn more about our in-house Paediatric First Aid training

If a learner doesn’t pass the Paediatric First Aid course the first time, they have the option to re-take the theory assessment using an alternative test paper within 7 weeks of the course end date. Additional support is provided to assist learner/s in improving their chances of completing the retake.

Paediatric First Aid certificates are typically valid for three years, and after this time, you will need to retake the course to obtain a new certificate and ensure you’re compliant with regulatory requirements. However, HSE strongly recommends that learners undertake yearly refresher courses to keep their skills updated with the latest guidelines.

No prior first aid experience is necessary as the course is designed for learners from various training levels and experiences, including those with very little or no previous first aid experience. This comprehensive 2-day course will provide learners with the skills they need to manage first aid emergencies in a childcare setting, including both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

There’s no specialist equipment that you’re required to bring - everything that’s required will be provided by our instructors. Learners must provide a form of photo identification and bring a notepad and pen for taking notes. A comfortable dress code is advisable for practical exercises

The Equality Act 2010 requires training centres to make reasonable adjustments where a disabled person would be at a substantial disadvantage in undertaking an assessment. A request for a reasonable adjustment depends on several factors, including the needs of the individual. Reasonable adjustments should be applied before a learner is assessed. Accordingly, we ask that customers identify any reasonable adjustments in time for such adjustments to be made safely

Learners must be at least 14 years old* to enrol on the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid course. An understanding of English is also required to undertake the training and complete the multiple-choice assessments. Learners must demonstrate first aid procedures as part of their assessment, including providing CPR to a casualty on the floor, and so must be physically capable of this.

*Please note that while learners aged 14-16 are allowed to complete the qualification, they shouldn’t be relied on by employers as the sole emergency first aider in the workplace.
